JOURNALING

Journaling consists of recording one's thoughts and feelings daily in a notebook.
It is very useful in the process of getting to know one oneself, goal setting, and getting organized. It has immediate benefits such as reducing stress and helping with focus.
Journaling is a commitment to oneself and it helps one to stay focused on the chosen path. It has helped many people on their path of recovery from addiction and anyone eager to embrace the journey of holistic health and mind body medicine.
We ask patients to bring a journal with them and encourage them to make time during the day to be introspective.
The journal can be plain or a more sophisticated notebook. The National Institute for Chemical Dependency is selling a special journal containing quotes that could be inspirational.
