OUR ADDICTION PHILOSOPHY
|
The problem is not in the substance
The problem is in the user.
A holistic approach
Our approach includes sexual, emotional, mental, social and spiritual issues. You will examine all these aspects of your life in the privacy of your daily individual counseling sessions, during co- counseling with another patient or while journaling on your own. We provide in-depth sessions with Reichian body work that will lead you to life changing insights as well as spiritual counseling using the work of Byron Katie. The end result will be feeling better, caring for oneself and having increased energy.
A spiritual approach
We believe and teach the general spiritual principals of truth, self-love and honesty. We create conditions favorable to finding inner peace. We believe in treating the body as a temple for the soul. We encourage introspection and the use of your own personal spiritual practice. We believe in the power of prayer. We believe that all addiction has the same root. We believe in treating the person who drinks and not the drinking problem.
A positive approach
We view the addictive illness as an opportunity for personal growth and transformation. We believe that the moment someone views themselves as an addict and makes a decision to act, they separate from their addictive self and step out into another part of themselves -the non addicted self or the free self. The addicted person may or may not know who is the non-addicted self. It may be the forgotten little girl who was not using drugs 20 years ago; it may be another part of the self who has maintained regular work and social life separated from the hidden addicted self; or one may not know or remember anything else but the world of addiction. However little is known about that new emerging person, our focus will be to strengthen it and give it shape and a voice.
- We avoid cross addiction and aim at a healthy life style rather than just a rehabilitation from drugs.
- We believe in making you permanently free of all addiction.
- We believe that addicted individuals can learn how to detach from their desire.
- We believe that addiction is a state of mind that can be left behind when someone's strongest desire is to become free.
- When you will have a taste of freedom, you will not stop looking for higher freedom. Seeking freedom will be your strongest drug ever.
The search for freedom is the highest drug
One can ever taste

Addiction, behavior or disease?
A Typical Day
Benedict Lust, 1925
"Let us learn and practice what we instinctively know to be a fact; namely that the present-day generation and misery of the human race can not be alleviated by laws and regulations, by loans and convenants, but improvement must come from within ourselves; it must come through a complete rebirth; through different mental attitude, different conception and conduct of life; through return of naturalness, true religion, simplicity, frugality, economy and joyous renunciation; through upbuilding and uplifting; through honesty and tolerance; through purposeful strengthening of body, mind and soul, so that we will again feel throbbing life within us, strong and powerful, enabling us to again enjoy life, nature, family life, art, book, picture and son, and to bear bravely whatever pains and vicissitudes life holds in store for us."

ADDICTION RECOVERY
- COCAINE -
I had been doing drugs heavily for 16 years and no rehab or therapist could change me.
I was too full of toxins for the twelve-step program to ever work on me. I needed to clean my body out so that I could feel normal enough to fight the desire to do drugs.
Dr Baylac awakened me.
I have remained cocaine free now for 2 years (2008)....
